Winnie Odinga’s driver was on Tuesday hit by a teargas canister and later turned away at Mama Lucy Hospital where he sought treatment, she has said.
Winnie, NASA leader Raila Odinga’s daughter, says John Ogwati was not attended to because of his affiliation to the opposition.
Two other victims also caught in the fire during the Jacaranda prayer meeting that never was were also chased away, Ms Odinga said.
“Today my driver John Ogwati was shot in the head from close range by a Teargas launcher. After falling to the ground he was then trampled on. He was rushed to Mama Lucy Hospital by friends who were wearing ‘Resist Tshirts.’
“The staff upon seeing this group, which included John bleeding profusely from his head, informed the patient, ‘we don’t treat watu wa Baba hapa.’ He has since been moved to another facility. Two other patients who were injured by police and taken to that facility were also chased away,” Winnie’s post read.
Police lobbed teargas at the opposition supporters and leaders after sealing off the grounds where they were meant to mourn their felled supporters.

There was chaos witnessed in areas surrounding the grounds leaving at least 3 people dead including 7 year old, Geoffrey Mutinda.
Odinga told his supporters that he will be sworn in on December 12, by the people’s assembly and thereafter make his way to state house.
