    Woman dies while in toilet in Diani hotel

    A woman died while in a toilet in an incident in Diani, Kwale County.

    The woman identified as Margaret Kemunto, 46 was in the company of other colleagues at the Trade Winds Villas and Spa Milele and was having drinks when she excused herself to go to the toilet.

    A few minutes later, the colleagues heard her scream once. An attendant at the joint rushed to check on her and found her seated on the toilet, having difficulty breathing.

    She was rushed to Diani Beach Hospital where she was pronounced dead by the medics on arrival. The body was moved to Msambweni Referral Hospital mortuary, awaiting postmortem. The colleagues were questioned as part of the probe into the incident.

    Elsewhere in Kaseret, Baringo, one Laban Kibor, 28 was killed in a scuffle with his brother in a dispute. Police visited the scene and established the deceased was hit with the stone on his head as they fought and collapsed.

    He died on the spot as the assailant escaped the scene. Police were called to the scene and moved the body to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.

    In Ongata Rongai, Kajiado County, a woman is nursing serious stab wounds to her breasts after a domestic fight with a person known to her.

    Police said the suspect was later arrested pending arraignment. He told police they had differed over domestic issues, which escalated to a fight.

    In Juja, Kiambu County, a 15-year-old boy drowned in Thika River while on a swimming expedition. Police said the boy was in the company of his friends when the incident happened on Wednesday evening.

    Police said the boy was rescued and rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and further probe.

    Elsewhere in Mbeere, Embu County, one Nicholas Njeru Muchungu, 60 was found dead after a suspected murder. The deceased had a deep in the head and both hands suspected to have been inflicted by a sharp object.

    At the scene, police recovered two mobile phones. One of the mobile phones was linked to a neighbor of the deceased. The suspect is missing and police are looking for him for questioning.

    Police said they are investigating a murder in the case. The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.
