A man clobbered to death his wife in a domestic fight in Marakaru, Bungoma County.

Police said the suspect was on Friday February 6 on the run after the incident. Debora Nafula, 32 died in hospital on February 5, 2026 where she had been admitted after the assault at her home on January 30, 2026.

Police visited her residence in Mayanja area but did not find the husband. The body was moved to the mortuary pending other procedures, police said.

In the Mungani area, Kitui County, a man died after being attacked by an arrow. Police said Benson Mukiti, 39 died in hospital after he had been attacked by a known suspect in the area. The motive of the attack was not immediately known. The body had arrows lodged in the stomach. It is believed the arrow was poisonous. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other investigations, police said.

In Muringene, Meru County, one Nicholas Mwiti, 30 was found dead after suspected murder. He was a security guard in the area.

It is believed he was killed elsewhere after he went missing. He went missing on February 2 and his body was discovered three days later.

Police said the body was found near a bridge of Duatharo river with visible injuries in the head.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.

Police said they wanted to establish the motive of the murder of the guard. There are indications the man was killed elsewhere and the body dumped at the site where it was found.

And police are investigating an incident where one David Karani, 50 died after being hit by a falling tree in Mbakalo area, Bungoma County.

He is said to have been among a group of people who had been contracted to cut trees in the area and he was pulling one of the falling trees when it trapped them. He was hit on the head and died on the spot.

The death stopped the mission to cut the trees as the body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
