    Woman found dead in pigeon peas farm in Kitui

    Police in Kitui County have launched investigations into the death of a 35-year-old woman whose body was discovered in a farm on Sunday morning.

    The deceased, identified as Kambua Kiviu, was found lying naked inside a pigeon peas farm in Isangwa area.

    According to police, the incident was reported on May 31, 2026, after members of the public discovered the body behind the Marie Gardens area.

    Police visited the location and established that the woman had dust all over her body and visible bruises on her lower lips.

    Preliminary investigations indicate that Kiviu was last seen on May 29, 2026, at a miraa base in the Kalundu area of Kitui Township.

    The scene was processed by detectives and forensic officers before the body was moved to the Kitui County Referral Hospital mortuary, where it is awaiting a post-mortem examination.

    Police are treating the case as a suspected murder and have commenced investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding her death and identify those responsible.

    No arrests had been made by the time of filing this report.

    And police in Teso North Sub-County are investigating the death of a 68-year-old man who was found dead in a room he had occupied in Malaba town.

    The incident was reported to Malaba Police Station on Sunday, May 31, 2026, after the man was discovered unresponsive in his room by the premises management.

    The deceased was identified as Mohamed Osman Aska, aged 68 years. Preliminary investigations established that he had checked into the room on May 23, 2026.

    According to police, the body had no visible physical injuries. However, a search of the room led to the recovery of assorted hospital drugs believed to have been in the deceased’s possession and use. The medications were collected as exhibits for further examination.

    Crime scene personnel processed the scene before the body was moved to Kocholia Sub-County Hospital Mortuary for preservation pending a post-mortem examination.

    Police have classified the matter as a sudden death and are awaiting autopsy results to determine the exact cause of death. Investigations are ongoing.
