    Woman found murdered near school in Naivasha

    Police in Naivasha, Nakuru County launched investigations into the murder of a 38-year-old woman whose body was found by the roadside on Thursday morning.

    The deceased, identified as Joy Ines Mwende, was discovered lying lifeless along the Gitwamba–Kinamba murram road near Gitwamba Primary School.

    Preliminary findings indicate that the woman, who was an employee at John Wise Hotel in Kinamba, had sustained a deep stab wound on the right side of her neck extending towards the collarbone.

    Her clothes were soaked in blood at the time her body was discovered.

    The scene was processed and documented by forensic officers as part of ongoing investigations.

    The body was moved to Naivasha Sub-County Referral Hospital mortuary, where a postmortem examination will be conducted.

    Police said they launched a manhunt for those responsible for the killing.

    Elsewhere, police in Samia Sub-County, Busia County, launched investigations into the suspected murder of an 18-year-old man whose body was found by the roadside on Thursday morning.

    The deceased, identified as Ayub Amos Makokha, was discovered lying in a pool of blood in Mungasi Village, Agenga Location, after the incident was reported at around 10:27 a.m.

    Officers from Siaport Police Station visited the scene and established that the young man had sustained deep cuts to the neck, indicating a violent attack.

    According to his relative, the deceased had been in good health and was last seen at home on Wednesday evening before news of his death reached the family the following day.

    Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) processed the scene as part of ongoing investigations. The motive behind the killing remains unknown.

    The body was moved to Nangina Mission Hospital mortuary, where it awaits a postmortem examination.

    Police have appealed to members of the public with information that may assist in the investigations to come forward.

    And residents of Oyugis town in Homa Bay County were left in shock after a 38-year-old man was found dead early Thursday morning near a roadside in the township.

    The deceased, identified as Jared Otieno Omollo, was discovered lying beside a service lane near the entrance of Everlin Retail Shop at around 6:00 a.m.

    The incident was reported to Oyugis Police Station at about 9:00 a.m. by the deceased’s brother, who had visited the scene after receiving information about the discovery.

    Police found the body lying on the ground, with indications that the deceased had vomited. However, no visible physical injuries were observed.

    According to the family, Omollo, who worked as a tout within Oyugis town, had left home on Wednesday evening at around 5:00 p.m. heading to work but did not return.

    His brother told police that the deceased had a history of alcohol use.

    The scene was processed and documented before the body was moved to Rachuonyo County Hospital mortuary, where a postmortem examination will be conducted to establish the cause of death.

    Police have launched investigations into the incident.
