A 35-year-old man was found murdered in his house after a domestic fight in Ruiru, Kiambu County.

Police said the incident happened on Sunday, October 26, 2025 in Kihunguro area and left George Murage dead in his sitting room.

He and his wife who is on the run had argued before the suspected assailant picked up a kitchen knife that he used in the mission.

Neighbours said they heard screams from the house and on checking the source they found the woman standing as the deceased gasped for air while bleeding from the abdomen.

On the table they saw a kitchen knife with blood stains, suspected to be the weapon used in the mission.

They took the victim to Kihunguro police station but before they arrived at the station, his wife, who is the main suspect, disappeared, police said.

The man was pronounced dead on arrival in hospital. The kitchen knife used in the fatal attack was recovered at the scene, police said.

Police said the hunt on the woman is ongoing and appealed to her to surrender for grilling and processing.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.

In Witeithie, Kiambu County, a man died after being hit by a stone in the head. The assailant is said to have been trying to stop the deceased identified as Eric Muriuki from loading his household goods onto a lorry.

Muriuki had arrived with a lorry to load the goods when the assailant appeared. The assailant and his wife had fought and the woman wanted her goods to be moved from the house.

She contracted Muriuki to help her move out the goods when an altercation broke out that turned fatal.

The assailant was later arrested in the area and detained pending arraignment for murder, police said adding the body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

The woman took over the house in the meantime.
