Two women were over the weekend beaten up by boda boda riders for being at the wrong place at the wrong time.
The women; Minnie Waithera and Anne Mukami are nursing injuries at the Kiambu Level 5 Hospital after irate boda boda riders rained blows and kicks on them around Kimbo Githurai area.
According to Waithera’s relative, the two women are hawkers who were riding in a lorry that had been in an accident, hitting a boda boda rider and later taking off.
The riders unknown to the occupants had tracked the lorry and were baying for blood.
“He towed the bike and the rider called friends. That’s when they came in a multitude of 50. The guys started beating them, kicking them randomly,” said Waithera’s aunt, Rosemary Kamau.
