The on- screen reporter, Yvonne Okwara’s first job was as a waitress in the CBD. She worked at Walker’s restaurant at Re-insurance plaza for close to 15 hours per day and earned only 150 shillings per day.
I know, right? Restaurant opened at 9am. We had to be in at 7am. Closed at 8pm. Stayed till 10pm to clean up. All for 150bob. But I learned a lot. To respect wait staff and dealing with people! Smile goes a long way. Earned more in tips this way!

Today she is a Senior news anchor and the Head of News Strategy and Research at KTN. She revels that the experience taught her simple important life skills such as being respectful and smiling, which went a long way for her.

Robert Alai has also mentioned that his first job was hawking socks and Macarena toys in Nairobi. Today he is a Head of State Commendation(HSC) recipient and a renowned blogger.
