Two people have been killed on Monday morning after a lorry transporting miraa collided with a matatu.
The accident took place along Mwea-Embu road in Kirinyaga County.
According to eye-witnesses, two lorries were overtaking each other at Nyamindi area which eventually caused the accident.

It is noted that one of the lorries rammed into the Neno Sacco matatu.
The matatu is reported to have been heading to Embu from Nairobi.
The two succumbed on the spot while the three survivors were rushed to the Embu County Hospital by a Good Samaritan.

The lorry driver who caused the accident is claimed to have fled the scene of accident. Police have since launched a manhunt for him.
The wrecked matatu was later moved by police to Wang’uru Police Station.
