    Moi Girls Dormitory Fire Kills 7, School To Remain Closed

    A dormitory caught fire at the Moi Girls’, Nairobi on Saturday morning claiming seven lives. 16 other students are nursing their injuries.

    10 girls have been hospitalised. The inferno is said to have broken out at around 2 am, Saturday.

    The cause of fire is still unknown.

    CS Education, Fred Matiang’i who is at the scene of incident said the school will remain closed as investigations continue.

    ”The school will remain closed for the next two weeks to allow the students to recover from the shock of the incident.”

    The CS said that the parties found culpable will be prosecuted. He also pointed out that the government would settle all the hospital bills for the victims.

    Matiang’i has also asked that Form Four students report back to school on Friday to continue with their exam preparations.
