magayaNASA CEO Norman Magaya is a man in hiding after acting CS Interior Ministry, Fred Matiang’i said he (Magaya) would be charged for the Wednesday anti-IEBC protests that turned ugly.

The police have been searching for him since Thursday, visiting places where he frequents.

”If you see him, tell him to report to police in Nairobi area,” a senior police officer told the Standard.

Matiang’i then banned NASA protesters from staging their demos in Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu CBDs. And urged those whose property was destroyed to report to the police.

Magaya has through his lawyer Apollo Mboya, threatened to take legal action against the CS for his ‘unconstitutional and illegal pronouncements against him.’

In a letter, the NASA CEO accused the CS of having a ‘pre-conceived mind to arrest him irrespective of the outcome of the investigation.’

Magaya says that he had notified the police of the demonstrations prior to their taking place. He also noted that a group known as the Nairobi Business Community participated in the demos but without notifying the security officers.

He also noted that in the event of looting, the police should use their instruments to identify the individuals involved as the government ‘spent Sh15 billion of taxpayers resources to acquire and install CCTV with facial and movement recognition.’

NASA will however continue to protest against the IEBC on a daily basis until their ‘irreducible minimum’ demands are met.
