    Kenyans React To MaendeleoYa Wanawake Chairperson Domestic Violence Remarks

    Maendeleo ya wanawakeMaendeleo ya wanawake chairperson Rahab Mwikali has said that the ladies who  are abused domestically deserve it.She said that the men have not changed but the women have . She said that there is no trust in marriage institution.

    Rahab Mwikali that women empowerment has limits and women should differentiate the roles of women at different levels.

    She however reiterated that Maendeleo ya Wanawake to assist those women who are seriously aggrieved to seek legal redress from organizations such as FIDA Kenya.

    The national chairperson however said that men have not changed and they can be likened to the ten commandments of the bible and that young women should exercise patience in marriage.

    Kenyans on twitter were quick to react to the sentiments especially the feminist who said that she should be championing for the rights of women.

    Other women said that the remarks by Rahab Mwikali made them feel like vomiting as they were uncalled for.

    Organisations like FEMNET called on the chairperson of Maendeleo ya wanawake to apologize for making such irresponsible remarks.
