    Coastal Leaders Initiate Plans To Secede, Claim Government Lack Moral Authority To Govern Them

    DPPCoastal leaders led Hassan Joho and Amason Kingi have said that it would be best if the Coast province seceded because they did not feel like the government cannot govern them as they did not have the moral authority to do so.

    They explained that they will begin talks for secession as the the government did not think that their aspirations were legitimate.

    Hassan Joho and Amason Kingi said that they would legal means to secede and they would explore both local law and international instruments.

    The coastal leaders form a committee who would develop the plan to secede. It would comprise of Mombasa Senator, Mohamed Faki, Kilifi senator, Mvita MP and Kilifi North MP.
