Magnus Donald Blackburn Bradbury is a Scottish professional rugby union player born on 23 August 1995 in Glasgow, Scotland.
Raised with strong ties to Oban, he began his rugby journey with Oban Lorne RFC before attending Oban High School and later securing a scholarship to Merchiston Castle School.
He is the son of Dee Bradbury, who became the first female president of the Scottish Rugby Union, and the late Nick Bradbury, a figure in the Scottish fish-farming industry.
Bradbury has represented Scotland from age-grade levels through to the senior national team and has spent the majority of his senior club career with Edinburgh Rugby, with a two-year interlude at Bristol Bears.
Siblings
Magnus Bradbury is the elder of two sons. His younger brother is Fergus Bradbury.
However, information about Fergus remains limited, as he lives a private life compared to his famous brother.
Career
Bradbury started in the amateur game with Oban Lorne and later featured for Boroughmuir, helping the side win the BT Scottish Cup in 2015 with two tries in the final.
He made his professional debut for Edinburgh against Leinster in October 2014.

Over his first spell with the club he became a regular in the back row, reaching 100 appearances and later becoming a centurion.
In 2017 he was named Edinburgh captain at a young age before the role was withdrawn following an off-field incident; he continued to develop as a key forward.
He joined Bristol Bears for the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons, where he was a consistent starter and try-scorer.
He returned to Edinburgh in 2024, was appointed club captain for the 2025/26 season, and has since extended his contract.
Internationally he progressed through Scotland Under-17, Under-18 and Under-20 sides, made his senior debut against Argentina in 2016, featured in the 2019 Rugby World Cup, and has earned more than 20 Scotland caps along with appearances for Scotland A and the national sevens team.
Accolades
Bradbury was appointed Edinburgh Rugby captain in 2017 and again for the 2025/26 season, reflecting his growth into a leadership role.
During his time at Bristol Bears he was named the club’s Players’ Player of the Year after an impressive first season.
He received the Sir Willie Purves Quaich in 2017.
At club level he has also been recognised as Scottish Building Society Player of the Month.
His international achievements include selection for the 2019 Rugby World Cup, a try in Scotland’s memorable 38-38 draw with England at Twickenham in the 2019 Six Nations, and a return to the Scotland squad in later years after a period outside the Test setup.
