The Iran-backed Iraqi militia suspected of launching a drone strike in Jordan resulting in the deaths of three US soldiers has announced a temporary halt to its operations against US forces. Kataib Hezbollah, part of a larger group claiming responsibility for the attack, cited concerns over avoiding embarrassment for the Iraqi government as the reason for the suspension.
According to the US Department of Defense, this declaration by Kataib Hezbollah is viewed with skepticism, with emphasis placed on actions over words. US President Joe Biden has indicated that a response to the attack has been determined but has not disclosed specifics.
