    Kenyans To Dig Deeper In To Their pockets As Fuel Prices Set To Increase

    The monthly fuel  review has revealed that the fuel prices are set to increase  the new prices are effective from January 15 to February 14 .

    Super petrol will retail at Sh106.30 in Nairobi after a Sh2.13 increase, diesel goes up by Sh2.39 and kerosene also goes up by Sh3.36

    The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has attributed the increase to the increase in landing costs of imported petrol increased by 3.99 per cent as compared to December 2017 while costs of imported diesel went up by 4.63 and kerosene by 6.36 per cent.

    The ERC said that “The free on board price of Murban crude oil lifted in December 2017was posted at US$64.85 per barrel, an increase of 1.89 percent from US$63.65 per barrel in November 2017.”

    There has been a constant increase in fuel prices as the last decrease being experiienced in September.

    Kenyans are being forced to dig deeper into their pockets as prices of fuel and basic commodities such as Maize floor going up.
