    Couple arrested after death of daughter following beating in Nyamira

    A couple was arrested after their daughter aged five died following a move to discipline her in their house in Kebirigo, Nyamira County.

    The incident happened on September 30, 2025 morning. The couple claimed the girl suffered epilepsy. But police said the body of the girl had visible injuries on the head and face.

    Other tenants at the residential apartment said they heard the girl scream as she was being beaten before she went silent.

    It was then that the couple rushed her to the local hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival, police said.

    The body was preserved at the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.

    Elsewhere in Matisi, Webuye, Bungoma County, one Alfred Soita Wekesa, 60 was found dead in his house after a suspected murder.

    The body was found on September 30, 2025 with multiple injuries and lying on his bed.

    The man had been missing since September 26 before he was found dead in his house.

    The motive of the murder is yet to be known and the body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.

    And police are investigating a murder incident after the body of a man was found along Tezo-Kilifi Road in Kilifi Town.

    When police arrived at the scene they said they found blood oozing from the body with an unopened soda, Sh50 lying next to it.

    He was identified as Amani Gohu who was a boda boda rider in the area.

    The motive of the murder is yet to be known, police said as they moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations.

    Police said they are investigating the murder but they had not established the motive of the same. Murder cases have been on the rise in the area amid efforts to solve those reported so far.
