Detectives are investigating an incident where an elderly woman was murdered and her body abandoned in bed in a kitchen in Birongo village, Keumbu, Kisii County.
The woman was identified as Anne Bosibori Ochenge, 73.
Her body was found on bed in her kitchen long after the October 13 murder, police said.
The motive of the murder is yet to be known.
According to police, the woman slept in the kitchen separately from the bedroom where her husband was.
The husband noticed she was motionless and called for help to take her to hospital when it was confirmed she had died.
In Nyamira, one Hellen Moraa died in hospital after she was assaulted in her house.
A man believed to be her husband escaped after the incident that happened on October 11, 2025.
She succumbed to the injuries two days later, police said.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and the hunt on the said assailant.
In Kabras, Kakamega County, an infant was found murdered in a tragic incident.
Police said the baby’s neck had been severed in the macabre murder.
A man believed to be her father is said to have used a slasher to slit the throat. The slasher was found at the scene. A mob attacked and attempted to kill the man but police rushed to his rescue.
The motive of the murder was not immediately known.

In Gatarakwa, Koibatek, Baringo County, the body of one Edward Bore, 72 and who had been missing was found at a quarry in Lelgel area.
Police said the body was found in a thicket and decomposed.
It is not clear how he died but he had been missing for a week.
