Nyali Member of Parliament Mohammed Ali has said that there is more to the National Youth Service (NYS) saga than the general public have been told.

The MP said that Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru and former DCI Ndegwa Muhoro should also be investigated with regards to the second scandal.

He said that the two were among ten other senior government officials that he felt needed to be investigated.

“Evidence brought to my attention now points to the alleged involvement of other senior government officials, banks and business people whose names have been studiously avoided both by investigators and the media,” he said while speaking in parliament

The former investigative journalist mentioned Former Devolution CS Mwangi Kiunjuri, Business man Ben Gethi, Nelson Githinji, Deputy director NYS Sam Muchuki, Health CS Sicily Kariuki and Police inspector Julius Muia.

Police inspector Julius Muia is said to have received Sh.900,000 from the Ngirita family whose companies are adversely mentioned in the second NYS scandal.

PS Lilian Omollo had earlier stated that the scandal was exposed after she failed to authorize the payment of Sh.64 million to Petro Kenya oil company limited CEO Gor Semelango and boss Peter Gathecha.

Ali also mention 40 companies that might have received irregular or illegal money from the NYS.

At least 43 suspects were arrested and 113 accounts in 13 banks frozen following the loss of Sh.9 billion shillings at the National youth service.

The suspects were earlier on in the day released on bail following lack of evidence proving that they were going to interfere with the on going investigations.
