Police officers in Endebess Sub-County have arrested six suspects linked to a notorious criminal gang known as the “Kapenguria Six” in a joint operation to curb crime in the area.

The suspects — Juma Wanjala, Samson Kapolon Ewoi, Thomas Esakon Lorongoi, Linus Wekesa Wasilwa, Moses Kisuya Wekesa and Ezra Simiyu Nyongesa — are accused of terrorising residents of Kaisheber, Nabeki, Cherubai and nearby areas.

In a statement, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said officers recovered a military jungle belt, a beret and three pangas during the arrests, showing the gang was prepared to use violence.

“The six suspects are currently in police custody as investigations continue ahead of their court appearance,” the DCI said.
