    Affordable Housing Board Advertises CEO Position

    The Affordable Housing Board (AHB) has announced a vacancy for the position of Chief Executive Officer.

    In a notice published in MyGov on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, the Board, through ACAL Consulting, said it is seeking to recruit a qualified, highly experienced and results-oriented professional to fill the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – AHB Grade 1.

    “The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for management and administration of the Affordable Housing Board and will be accountable to the Board of Directors,” the notice reads.

    The CEO will serve as the accounting officer of the Board, provide leadership to staff, prepare annual work plans for board approval, and oversee the opening and operation of Board accounts with the approval of the Board and the National Treasury. The role also includes maintaining financial records, ensuring funds are used only for their intended purpose, and preparing annual financial statements in line with the Public Audit Act, 2015.

    In addition, the CEO will spearhead policy formulation and implementation, oversee execution of board decisions, coordinate monitoring and evaluation of affordable housing projects funded by the Board, and undertake any other duties assigned by the Board of Directors.

    Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Built Environment, Business Administration, Finance/Commerce, Law, or a related field from a recognized institution, as well as a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline. Candidates should have at least 15 years of work experience, including 10 years in a managerial role.

    Required competencies include leadership and team-building skills, strategic thinking, strong communication and interpersonal skills, decision-making and problem-solving ability, and high ethical standards and integrity.

    The successful candidate will serve on a three-year contract, renewable once subject to satisfactory performance.

    “Interested and eligible candidates may access the detailed job description, specifications and experience required for the position from the AHB’s website,” the notice states.

    Applicants are required to submit a cover letter, copy of national ID, academic and professional certificates, testimonials, and a detailed CV indicating current position, qualifications, work experience, three professional referees, current remuneration and daytime telephone contact.

    Applications must quote the job reference “Chief Executive Officer – AHB Grade 1” and be submitted via email only to vacancyahb@acal.co.ke. No physical applications will be accepted.

    The application deadline is March 10, 2026.
