    Early Life

Paul Shortino was born on May 14, 1953, in the United States. From a young age, he developed an interest in music and eventually pursued a career in rock and heavy metal.

His musical abilities extended beyond singing, as he also learned to play several instruments, which helped shape his career as a multi-talented performer.

    Career with Rough Cutt

Shortino first gained recognition as the lead vocalist of Rough Cutt, a band he joined in 1982. He remained with the group until 1987 and helped establish their sound during the early years of the Los Angeles heavy metal scene.

During this period, Rough Cutt released several albums and developed a dedicated fan base in the hard rock community. Shortino later returned to perform with the band again in 2000 after being replaced earlier by vocalist Parramore McCarty.

    Quiet Riot Era

In 1987, Shortino became the lead singer of Quiet Riot, replacing original vocalist Kevin DuBrow.

During his time with the band, Quiet Riot released the album QR in 1988. Shortino remained the band’s frontman until 1989, when he was eventually replaced as the group continued to undergo lineup changes.

Shortino also contributed lead vocals to the heavy metal charity project Hear ‘n Aid in 1985. The project produced the song Stars, which featured a lineup of well-known metal vocalists including Ronnie James Dio, Rob Halford, Geoff Tate, Don Dokken, Eric Bloom, and Dave Meniketti.

    Film and Video Game Appearances
