The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has reopened applications for selected Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) courses with available vacancies for the September 2026 intake.
The reopening gives students who missed the earlier application window another opportunity to apply for available KMTC programmes.
KMTC announced on Monday that interested students can submit their applications online.
“If you missed the earlier application window, this is another opportunity to begin your journey towards a career in healthcare,” KMTC said.
Students can view the available KMTC courses and submit their applications through the KUCCPS KMTC programmes portal.
KMTC also reminded applicants seeking admission to Higher Diploma courses that applications are being processed through its official admission portal.
Interested candidates can access the KMTC application portal to submit their applications.
Applicants are encouraged to confirm the available programmes and admission requirements before submitting their applications.
The reopening of applications comes shortly after KMTC announced the introduction of three new healthcare programmes aimed at strengthening Kenya’s health workforce.
The new programmes include a Diploma in Speech Therapy, a Higher Diploma in Speech and Language Therapy and a Higher Diploma in Audiology.
KMTC Chief Executive Officer Dr Kelly Oluoch announced the new programmes during the Kenya Health Summit 2026, held on August 18 and 19 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).
The announcement was made during a Presidential Listening Session attended by President William Ruto.
The college said the new programmes were developed to respond to emerging healthcare needs and address skills gaps in specialised areas.
“Invited by the President to elaborate, Dr. Oluoch highlighted the College’s introduction of the Diploma in Speech Therapy, Higher Diploma in Speech and Language Therapy and Higher Diploma in Audiology, among programmes aimed at closing emerging skills gaps in the health sector,” KMTC said in a statement issued on Thursday, August 27.
The introduction of the programmes is expected to increase the number of trained professionals in speech therapy, speech and language therapy and audiology.
