Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen is mourning the death of Mama Sokomo Chemeitoi Jepkiror KoJepkosgei.
Murkomen announced the death in a social media post, saying she died suddenly after a short illness.
The Cabinet Secretary described her as a loving and caring woman who played an important role in maintaining close family ties.
“It is with a heavy heart that we share the sad news of the sudden passing of our maternal aunt Mama Sokomo Chemeitoi Jepkiror KoJepkosgei after a short illness,” Murkomen said.
He described her as a peacemaker who maintained a close relationship with his mother and helped ensure the wider family remained united.

“Our aunt was loving, caring and a peacemaker. Throughout her life, she maintained close friendship and deep family ties with her younger sister – our mother, and they ensured we grew together with my cousins as one close-knit family loving and supporting each other,” he said.
Murkomen said the family would dearly miss her and extended his condolences and prayers to his cousins, his mother and the entire extended family.
“Our Aunt will be dearly missed. My condolences and prayers are with my cousins, my mother and her sister, and the entire extended family. May her soul rest in eternal peace,” he said.
