Shah Rukh Khan, popularly known as SRK or King Khan, is an Indian actor, film producer, and television personality widely regarded as one of the biggest stars in Bollywood and a global cultural icon.
Born on 2 November 1965 in New Delhi, India, he rose from modest beginnings after losing his parents at a young age to become a defining face of Hindi cinema.

Siblings
Shah has one sibling, an elder sister named Shehnaz Lalarukh Khan.
She prefers a private life away from the media spotlight and lives with Shah Rukh Khan and his family at their Mumbai residence, Mannat.
Their parents, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan and Lateef Fatima Khan, both passed away when the siblings were relatively young, the father from cancer in 1981 and the mother about a decade later.
Shehnaz struggled deeply with the losses, experiencing a prolonged period of depression and emotional withdrawal in the years that followed.

Career
Khan began his professional journey in the late 1980s through television, gaining early recognition with roles in serials such as Fauji and Circus.
He made his feature film debut in 1992 with Deewana, which brought him immediate attention and a Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut.
In the following years he took on unconventional anti-hero and intense roles in films like Baazigar, Darr, and Anjaam, establishing himself as a bold performer willing to challenge conventional leading-man tropes.
By the mid-1990s he transitioned into romantic leads that defined a generation, most notably with the enduring classic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, followed by a string of successful films including Dil To Pagal Hai, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and many others that cemented his status as the King of Romance.
Over the decades he expanded into diverse genres, producing films through his company Red Chillies Entertainment, and later delivered major commercial triumphs with action-oriented releases such as Pathaan and Jawan in 2023, which ranked among the highest-grossing Indian films and marked a strong career resurgence.
Accolades
Khan has received multiple Filmfare Awards, including several for Best Actor, along with a National Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in Jawan.
In 2005 the Government of India conferred upon him the Padma Shri, one of the country’s highest civilian awards.
France has also honoured him with the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and the Legion of Honour.
