The 2026 NCBA Tea Fields Trophy will tee off this weekend at the Kericho Golf Club, with the three-day tournament running from Friday, October 2 to Sunday, October 4, as 70 golfers battle for a share of the Sh500,000 up for grabs.

Fresh from claiming his maiden Kenya Amateur Golf Championship (KAGC) Series title at the NCBA Nanyuki Open, Cyprian Bundi will be among the leading entrants looking to carry his momentum into the Kericho leg.

Bundi held his nerve throughout the tournament in Nanyuki, carding 1-under 215 to take home the Nanyuki title on home turf as he led from start to finish.

He opened the first round with 2-under par 70, then followed it with a 1-over par 73 score after round two to head into the final round atop the leaderboard. On Sunday, he played equal par 72 to finish with a three-round total of 215.

The NCBA Nanyuki Open champion will tee up against a strong field that includes last year’s first runners up Elvis Muigua and Elly Barno, Josphat Rono, and Alex Mwangi among others. Joel Chebon, Ignatius Ngetich, David Biegon, Kipkurui Collins, Dorcas Bett, and Anthony Korir will be playing at their parent club and will be counting on home advantage to emerge victorious.

Last year, Muthaiga Golf Club’s David Kiragu carded three-over-par 219 to win the NCBA Tea Fields Trophy, finishing ahead of Elly Barno and Elvis Muigua, who tied for second on six-over-par 222.

The Kericho tournament will provide another opportunity for players to collect valuable points as the 2026 KAGC Series enters its later stages, with the battle for positions at the top of the standings continuing to take shape.

Jay Sandhu continues to lead the 2026 KAGC standings with 1,535 points, followed by John Kamais on 1,125. Muigua is third on 989 points, with Adel Taufiq Balala fourth on 814, while Rono rounds off the top five on 695.16 points.

Elsewhere, the NCBA U.S. Kids Mombasa Local Fall Tour and NCBA U.S. Kids Nairobi Local Fall Tour will continue on Sunday, October 04, with events scheduled for Nyali Golf & Country Club and Thika Sports Club, respectively.

This will be the second leg for the Mombasa Tour which teed off last weekend with Shay Chauhan and Samara Teneva emerging as the standout players Vipingo Ridge Golf Resort on Sunday as 60 junior golfers, 22 girls and 38 boys, teed off.

Chauhan carded 7-over par 79 in the Boys 15-18 category to finish ahead of Aryan Awe Joseph (+18) while David Kaguru (+24) finished third while Teneva posted 9-over par 45 in the Girls 9-10 category to edge out Avian Klee (+12) and Natalie Amor (+18) who were second and third, respectively.

The programme is organised in partnership with U.S. Kids Golf and the Junior Golf Foundation Kenya, with support from NCBA.
