Applications are now open for the maiden edition of Meet The Farmer Conference (MTFC) Innov8Agric Challenge.

The challenge presents farmers with an opportunity to walk home with Ksh500,000 and an all expense paid trip to Dubai for the Grand Finale, access to follow-on funding among other business opportunities.

The challenge/conference is open for young farmers, agropreneurs, and innovators in the agricultural value chain who are currently applying innovative methods to their enterprise.

According to organisers, the innovation competition is aimed at promoting innovative ideas for early stage agricultural entrepreneurs from all sectors of the agriculture ecosystem.

“The challenge aims to promote innovative ideas and enterprises that focus on agriculture leveraging technology and help them scale up and increase the drive for innovation in agriculture entrepreneurship,” says Babatunde Adenuga the head of digital media for Crenov8 Consulting.

Selected businesses will have the opportunity to exhibit and participate in the regional satellite conferences. Winners will emerge from each region and then go on an all-expense paid to the United Arab Emirates to participate in the MTFC grand finale and pitch for the top prize in Dubai, UAE.

Winners from each regional conference in Accra, Nairobi, Kigali, and Abuja will battle for the chance to win $5000 (Ksh500,000) and access to other business opportunities.
