President Uhuru Kenyatta gave a very stern warning to the Agriculture Cabinet Secretary, Mwangi Kiunjuri and the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) officials, that they should not to pay any more rich traders yet there are poor farmers suffering.

The angered President could not hide his rage as he swore during his speech that those involved would face dire consequences if they release any more funds.

“Mungiriha nimukuona inyui (if you attempt to pay, you will see the consequences),” the enraged President said at the Nairobi ASK Show.

President Uhuru shared these sentiments to serve as a warning to those officials who were paying wealthy traders and cartels who were buying maize from neighboring Uganda yet Kenyan farmers were being bypassed.

“We know it is the people at the NCPB, who instead of paying farmers that toiled on their farms for maize to sell in order to educate their children, went and paid a few wealthy individuals and traders and ran out of money to pay the hardworking farmers,” President Uhuru lamented.

President Uhuru’s outburst caught many by surprise as he passionately swore that those involved will pay dearly if they release any funds.

“I promise you and I swear before God, you try that again and I promise you will see what is going to happen to you, said the President.

The President spoke about his continued fight with corruption and promised to fight off any cartels and to support hardworking Kenyan farmers.
