A Kiambaa Catholic Priest has been accused by parishioners of luring young girls to his residence for “immoral” activities.

The priest who has since been banished to the John Paul II, a rehabilitation centre for wayward Catholic priests in Murang’a, is said to have invited female congregants to his home, seduced them and helped them terminate pregnancies.

The Githunguri, Kiambu County priest, according to the Nation invited the girls for parties and sometimes swam naked.

The victims are reportedly minors but no cases have been reported to the police. The area chief Stephen Mwaniki also a member of the church, noted that discussing the “amorous” priest was difficult as the victims are yet to come forward.

A victim’s parent did however disclose to the Nation that her daughter, now a university student, on 1 May took her clothes to a tailor at the local Kambaa Trading Centre only to return home drunk and bleeding heavily.

The girl was quickly rushed to the hospital where it was found that she had terminated a pregnancy  with the help of the unidentified priest.

The mother says that she would have reported the case but is afraid of rubbing other church members the wrong way.

“I would have boldly followed up this matter but my spouse is against it because it may cause bad blood between us and other church members,” the parent said.

In another instance the priest is said to have paid Sh40,000 for a termination.
