A 51-seater Simba Coach bus caught fire on Wednesday morning at Ivingoni, Kibwezi.
The Mombasa bound bus burst into flames but all the 47 passengers on board escaped unhurt.
“They all got out of the bus safely and removed their luggage before the fire spread and consumed the whole vehicle,” Makueni county police commander Joseph Napeiyan said.
The driver, he said, pulled the bus off the road immediately.
The passengers were picked at the scene of incident by another bus belonging to the sacco at around 6 am.
On October 10, a 14-seater matatu burst into flames on Juja Road with passengers on board. They all escaped unhurt.
