Three funeral homes in South Africa have sued a controversial Johannesburg preacher Alph Lukau who claimed to have resurrected a dead man last weekend.

In the Sunday video that has gone viral, Pastor Lukau is seen ‘resurrecting’ a man from the dead right outside his church as thousands of believers looked on.

The firms now claim the “resurrection drama” by Alleluia Ministries pastor has tainted their reputation after the video went viral on social media.

Local media outlets had reported that Kings and Queens Funerals had distanced itself from the incident.

The firm denied handling the “dead man’s” body at any point, contrary to reports circulating online.

“We did not supply the coffin, neither did we store the deceased at our mortuary and no paperwork was processed by Kings and Queens Funerals,” Kings and Queens Funerals is quoted.

It however, admitted that it had transported the family members of the deceased.

“We were approached by alleged family members of the deceased who informed us they had encountered a dispute with a different funeral service provider and would like to use our transport services which we offered them,” said the funeral service provider.

The other two funeral homes are yet to reveal grounds on which they’re suing the Johannesburg preacher.

On Sunday, the alleged resurrection video caused a stir online with netizens terming it stage managed.

In the video, the man who was apparently being expatriated to Zimbabwe had his relatives and land lady pass by the church. He was still in the hearse when one of the church members shouted “Pastor, something is happening outside.”

Lukau quickly left the church but urged the congregants to continue praying for their miracles.

Once he was outside, he ordered that the “dead man” is taken out of the hearse and on to a table. Still in the coffin, the man dressed in all white was laid on the table as the man of god prayed for him.

According to the “deceased’s” landlady, he died on Friday after coughing for a long while. They took him to the hospital but could not be admitted because he did not have with him the “right papers”. He would later pass on.

The controversial man of God started praying for the man who then starts breathing. Moments later, Lukau instructs the “corpse” to rise from the dead.

He helps the now resurrected man sit up and with the help of ushers, takes him out of the coffin and into the church where they feed him.
