Three Chinese nationals; Wang Liyong, Ye Dalu and Peng Hongwen are facing charges of robbery with violence.

The three allegedly robbed off Mr Samuel Mbugua Njoroge of a Mitsubishi Pajero worth Ksh2.1 million and Ksh5 million in cash.

The incidence is said to have happened  on January 10, 2019 at Golf Villas estate along Muchai Drive in Nairobi.

Appearing before Magistrate Kennedy Cheruiyot in Nairobi, the three denied the charges and were detained pending a ruling on their release on Friday, March 1.

The three, through their lawyer Royford Mwenda Nkonge said that it was a business rivalry between Njoroge and the Chinese nationals.

“Your honor this is a complete business rivalry matter, the complainant in this matter is as well charged in a similar matter at Kibra Law Courts where the accused persons before you are set to be witnesses, and the matter herein is just a device to frustrate and prevent the testimony of the accused persons before you.”
