    IBM Appoints Head of Tanzania Operations

    IBM has today announced the appointment of fellow forumnite and blogger David Sawe as Business Development Manager for its Tanzania operations. He will be based in Dar es Salaam and will double as head of IBM East Africa’s operations in Tanzania.

    IBM is handling several projects including notably a recently signed agreement with National Microfinance Bank, Tanzania’s bank with the most extensive branch network. IBM is signed an agreement with Tanzania’s Ministry of Edducation to build a Silicon Valley like campus next to University of Dodoma in Dodoma.

    Mr. Sawe has over 28 years experience in the ICT notably being that he was the Tanzania Government’s first Director responsible for e-Government affairs at the President’s Office for Public Service Management, and was until recently an Associate at the Tanzania Global Development Learning Centre.
