We thought that it is the KDN, Safaricom and Zuku which were tops in speed delivery to its users. No. We are very wrong. The fastest broadband speeds recorded in Kenya comes first from KENET then the likes of Jamii, Xtranet and KDN follows. Safaricom and AccessKenya are way down in the Net Index rankings. AccessKenya (Communication Solutions LTD) ranks higher than Safaricom on the list .
Kenya ranks in 89th place in broadband speeds (then we thought we were doing well). Results were obtained by Net Index analyzing test data between May 1, 2011 and May 30, 2011. Over 32,866 unique IPs have been taken in Kenya and of 470,778 total tests, 24,590 have been used for the current Index.

FYI… Safaricom is running most of KENET’s access links.
just to add on to that… Safaricom owns majority shareholding in One Communications Ltd.
