At least 15 people have been killed in a morning accident that involved a Nairobi-bound bus and a lorry.
The Madina bus is stated to have rammed onto a stationary lorry in Matuu area, Machakos County.
Reports indicate that the bus was speeding towards Nairobi from Garissa when it rammed into the lorry.
The victims who perished on the spot included ten men, two women and a child.

Those injured were rushed to Matuu Level Four hospital.
Yatta police commander Njoroge Karanja confirmed that the accident happened at about 5am.
However, he wondered why the driver of the stationary lorry had not put up warning signs on the road to caution other users.
According to a the images from the scene, the 68-people capacity bus of registration KCM 912 H, is seen to have extensively been damaged.
