Ahead of the 2019 Afcon, Harambee Stars winger Paul Were has found a new home at AFC Leopards after leaving Greece.

Were signed a short term contract to return to the den he left after the 2013 season for greener pastures.

He becomes the second returnee at the club this mini Kenyan Premier League transfer window after defender David “Cheche” Ochieng’ who joined from Belgium.

“Were has signed on a short term deal but there is an option to extend the contract at the end of the season. He is a good addition because we know his quality and what he can do,” a source at the club told Capital Sports.

Were joined AFC Leopards at the beginning of the 2012 season after moving from Tusker FC and helped the club to the 2013 Shield title before embarking on several moves abroad in 2015 that included sojourns to South Africa and Greece.

Leopards are trying to steady a disastrous season which has seen them fight relegation at one point in the first leg of the current season.

Were on the hand will be hoping to keep active and secure his place in the national team to Egypt for the 2019 Afcon.
