Officers drawn from the Kenya Forest Services (KFS) and Kenya Wildlife services (KWS) are currently battling a fire outbreak in Ontulili Forest area, Mt Kenya.
The fire is said to have affected over 100 acres of vegetation in the area.
The inferno comes two months after another fire outbreak razed over 80,000 hectares of Moorland in Mt Kenya.
The fire that lasted for more than five days, razed down the better part of Mt Kenya National Park in Tharaka-Nithi county, leading to the death of several animals.
In a statement, KWS said it had rescued visitors who were still trapped in the area.
“All visitors who had been trapped on Mt Kenya during a fire outbreak have been safely evacuated,” KWS said on Twitter.
In 2017, another in incident in Aberdares affected more than 17,000 acres of the forest.

“We have been battling the fire, which is spreading so fast due to strong winds, using two choppers and hand pumps,” said Mr Isaac Mugo, the park’s senior warden.
