Five men are in police custody after they were arrested on Sunday evening for defiling a 13-year-old girl in Ovo Forest, Tana River County.
The men have been identified as Said Omar,Galgalo Athumani,Athumani Mohamed,Yasir Mohamed & Dero Juma
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the gang took turns to sexually abuse the minor.
“5-Men gang that kidnapped a 13-year-old girl, took her to Ovo forest in #TanaRiver & sexually assaulted her in turns, were yesterday arrested,” a statement from the DCI reads in part.
The DCI confirmed that the victim is admitted at a Tana River hospital where she is receiving treatment and counselling after the traumatizing experience.

Detectives are in pursuit of two other suspects who escaped arrest.
The accused are set to be arraigned today.
The 13-year-old victim is currently undergoing treatment-including counseling & other necessary support that she requires, at a Hospital in Tana River. Two more suspects are being sought by Detectives.
