    BBC Documentary Uncovers Life Of Night Runners In Luo Land

    Night runners in Luo land have been doing their night runs for years with very people including close relatives failing to understand the craft. Recently, the night runners association made a queer request for the government to recognize and register their association.

    Many have likened night running to witchcraft, rumor has it that night runners strip naked and do peculiar things in the process of running.

    In an upcoming documentary BBC delves into the lives of the night runners and try to understand what goes through the mind of the said people.

    One of the ladies believed to be be practicing night running said that she only felt comfortable after running. She revealed that she feels sick if she fails to run.

    The video also gives a depiction of those married to this people, their experiences and how they follow their spouses thinking they had extra marital affairs.

    The Luo people of East Africa have spoken about 'night runners' for generations. But who are these night runners? #BBCAfricaEye has caught them in action.

    Recently, The night runners from Kamenya in Ndhiwa, Homabay County led by their union president demanded to be recognized and registered as a sports group.

    “We need to be registered and recognized by the government. We do night running as a sport. We are not witches as some people claim,”said their leader.

    “There are many sports that are registered by the Kenyan Government and we wonder why we as night runners cannot be recognized,” asked the chief night runner.
