    Airtel Money Ad

In a bid targeted at furthering the use of Airtel Kenya’s mobile money facility (Airtel Money), the mobile services operator has today announced a an offer to its Airtel Money users that enables them to make calls from their Airtel number to any network in Kenya at only Kshs 2.00 per minute.

By transacting Ksh 100 or more on Airtel Money, the pre-paid subscribers access the low call rate for 7 days on any activity. The subscribers will save on sending and receiving money, paying bills including water, electricity, travel, DStv, and bank transactions from their phone.

Airtel Money currently allows its customers to send money to any network in Kenya for FREE.

Airtel Money is a competition to the dominant player which is Safaricom’s M-Pesa. Both services can be used for paying utility bills with Nairobi Water, Kenya Power, DStv and KAPS parking fees due to its quality, security, reliability, affordability and convenience.

    cck report

Currently there are more than 23.1 million mobile money subscribers in Kenya with over 74,216 agents according to the latest CCK sector report.

Airtel Money currently has more than 10,000 agents countrywide and expects the number to grow to over 15,000 by the end of the year 2013.

The Airtel adverts for the offer has Teacher Wanjiku on them. This is a great move, if you ask me.
