Jeff Bezos, Amazon CEO is now the richest person in the world.
He is worth $90.6 billion dollars, overtaking Bill Gates’ $90 billion. Bezos had $600 million dollars up on Bill when markets opened on Thursday.
Jeff, 53 owns about 17% of the shares in Amazon which is equal to 81 million shares of the company. He also has interests in several other businesses like The Washington Post and the rocket company Blue Origin.

He is a philanthropist but has been criticized for not doing enough especially for the non-profit organizations.
Mr Bezos however did come up with the giving away bananas idea to passers-by in Seattle. Some 4,500 people take up the offer everyday.
He was at one time caught up in a public scuffle with now President of the USA, Donald Trump over the Washington Post and taxes.
Amazon studios produced the Academy award winning film, Manchester By The Sea. The film bagged two Oscars.
