Oxfam International through its Executive Director Winnie Byanyima has announced that they will be moving their secretariat from Oxford to Nairobi, Kenya. They say the move came from the need to be part of the society where they offer their help and to strengthen the southern voices within its decision making. JamboPay, a company that has partnered with the county government to provide online services for the county government wants to introduce aerial drones to monitor cars parked in Nairobi whose owners do not pay parking. They have written to the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority asking for permission to purchase the cameras that will help in revenue collection. The drone will fly across parking areas twice a day and relay the information to the county parking department which will enforce appropriate measures such as clamping of vehicles which have defaulted in parking fees. A Nairobi resident, Japheth Muroko  has filed a petition to contest Nairobi governor Mike Sonko election stating that the elections were done contrary to the provisions of the constitution. Betting firm Dafabet is set to open 10 new outlets in Nairobi. The Asian based betting company that set up shop in Kenya in January will this year spread its wings across Nairobi. Safaricom is set to complete their Agri-tech program by investing on Iprocure, a Kenyan input and supply chains platform that connects farmers to cooperatives and manufactures. Deputy President William Ruto has warned IEBC chairman against side shows and letters. He said that Wafula Chebukati should ensure that Kenyans go to the ballot on October 17. He insisted that the Jubilee party was not going to take part in the Chebukati jokes as they want Kenyans to democratically choose their leaders. Homabay Governor, Cyprian Awiti’s office went up in flames last night over a suspected arson attack. The building which is situated in the middle of Homabay town caught fire on Thursday night and was still ablaze on Friday morning.
