The county returning officer for Kilifi county suspended the tallying of results for Kaloleni after the Jubilee and the Wiper candidate stormed the center. The two claimed that the ODM candidate had rigged the election. The two other candidates demanded that the Returning Officer stop the exercise. Incumbent Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero and ODM senatorial candidate Edwin Sifuna have rejected the preliminary results provided by the IEBC. The Jubilee candidates, Mike Sonko and Johnson Sakaja appear to have won the polls according to the IEBC preliminary reports. The tally showed that Sonko was leading with 811,995 votes against  Kidero’s 653185 votes. Kidero said that he has rejected the results unless there is a physical recount with duly signed forms. Kennedy Mulwa an IEBC clerk in Changamwe Mombasa county was arrested for allegedly issuing double ballot papers to voters in his polling station. A power blackout is threatening to derail IEBC preparations in Nyonoro area of Lamu county after a suspected  Al shabaab militants attack. The Al Shabab militants are suspected to be behind the bombing of an electricity pylon on Mondday morning They have claimed responsibility for the said attack. The court has adjourned a case filed by NASA seeking to block the deployment of the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) to violence prone area ahead of the Tuesday general elections. NASA argued that the said deployment would take place without parliament’s approval which is goes against the constitution. NASA has released a dossier on alleged Ballot stuffing plot in Jubilee strongholds. They said this through their co Principal Musalia Mudavadi. The coalition claims that they have information they the Jubilee administration intends to switch of the electronic voter registration in their strongholds to give room for ballot staffing.
