The High court has postponed the ruling which activists had petitioned for the repealing of section 162 of the penal code. The court said that they were unable to constitute the three judge bench. Justice Chacha Mwita said that they were unable to make a decision as they had to go through volumes of documents which were presented manually. The court asked the petitioners to allow them to sit through April and make a decision in May. Christian and Muslim organizations opposed the petition. The ruling will be delivered on May 24. The Kenya National Commission of Human rights has asked the police to offer security to Sexual Orientation Gender Identity and Expression (SOGIE) community ahead of the landmark ruling on Friday. Police in Kapenguria have intercepted 28 refugees en route to Nairobi without proper documentation. They arrested 23 Somalis, two Sudanese and three juveniles at Tartar junction roadblock along the Lodwar-Kitale highway. The Kenya Human Rights Commission(KHRC) has moved to court to stop the single identification platform the National Integrated Identity Management Systems(Niims). The body of Dandora activist Caroline Mwatha has been found at the city mortuary. The activist who was well known for documenting extra judicial killings in Dandora had gone missing February 6.
