The government plans to strip the Ethics and Anti corruption commission (EACC) powers and vest them on the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI). In the new structure the DCI will be tasked with posting officers to all counties to investigate corruption cases. One person has died and several others are trapped inside a seven storey building that collapsed in Malindi. The building that was still under construction collapsed on three other buildings. According to the Red Cross 15 people have already been rescued but an onlooker said that several people were still trapped and more help was needed “Several people are still trapped here. A KCSE student from Barsumbat Secondary School in Elgeyo Marakwet died after consuming poisonous methanol from the school’s laboratory.
