Governor Okoth Obado has finally broken his silence after his release from Industrial area remand. The Migori county boss spoke from his home in Lavington Nairobi.

He thanked his supporters, MCAs from the county, his legal team, friends and family for standing with him during his trying moment. He said that hi release will help him to effectively work for the people of his county.

“This has given me an opportunity to effectively work for the people of Migori as their governor. I promise to respect the court and abide by the conditions it set,” he said on Friday.

He asked Kenyans to embrace peace and unity despite their political affiliations to steer forward the development agenda. He is grounded in Nairobi as he cannot go to his palatial home in Migori as it would contravene his conditions for bail.

He would be required to only use a chopper to go to Migori traveling by any other means he would cross the 20KM set boundary.

His legal team said that they would appeal some of the conditions saying that some of them were impractical.
