Meru University vice Chancellor professor Magambo has been sent on terminal leave  after the death of student leader Evans Njoroge who was allegedly shot by police. He will be replaced by professor Charity Gichuki who takes over  as vice chancellor in acting capacity. ICT CS Joe Mucheru has said that he is not in a position to explain the switch off that was experienced by 4 media stations saying that only president Uhuru Kenyatta can explain. According to Nairobi Health CEC Hitan Majevda the chemicals have not been available since he got into office in November 2017. “When I took over this office nothing was done in the labs. The Chairman of the youth fund Ronald Osumba has suspended seven senior staff members. The seniors staff affected by the the suspension include the lending and investment manager and the the senior accountant. The chairman said that the two were linked to irregular disbursements after an audit report established this on March 2.  He noted that the fraud was noted by the transfer of client information to the new system. Three journalists and four students fro the university of Nairobi have been arrested during the registrars strike at Kenyatta National Hospital. The circumstances behind the arrest of the journalist were still unclear. 30 students from the Kabete campus marched to the hospital carrying placards reading “We do not condone ignorance. #Quacksout”. Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) is currently undergoing a crisis after 700 staff at the hospital boycotted their duties and demanded for the reinstatement of their colleague. They said that they would not be able to work without their lecturers who are their supervisors because they do not get protection after mistakes such as the brain surgery happens. The lecturers who also are the supervisors are currently on  a nationwide strike. The Registrar doctors are the backbone of the referral hospital as they provide a huge percentage of the work force. Motorist were forced to sleep on Mombasa road following a traffic snarl caused by an accident at Lukenya Athi River. The police blamed impatient drivers and heavy rains for the snarl up.
