Blogger Abraham Mutai is afraid for his life after he apparently received threats to his life. According to the blogger, he has received “targeted” threats from individuals he believes to be Deputy President William Ruto’s supporters. DCI detectives have launched a manhunt for Agribusiness company Goldenscape Greenhouses managing director Peter Wangai. Wangai has gone under following reports that he swindled investors billions of shillings through the project. On Friday, detectives raided his Karen, Lower Kabete and Kimathi Street offices. The Nairobi deputy governor seat is vacant, Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati has declared. There was confusion earlier on in the week after it was said that the commission was unaware of Polycarp Igathe’s resignation. This meant that Igathe was still the rightful holder of office. The remains of sergeant Kipyegon Kenei have arrived in Nakuru county for the final burial rites. The deceased’s body was received by his colleagues at Umash Funeral Home a few minutes to 1 pm on Friday. His friends and family were given a moment to view his body. Later, a requiem mass will be held at Umash grounds. Kenei was found dead at his Villa Franca, Imara Daima estate home on February 20. The case was initially said to be a suicide. Sergeant Kipyegon Kenei was killed in cold blood, DCI boss George Kinoti has said. Speaking during a press briefing, Kinoti told reporters that the scene of crime was tampered with to imply suicide. Registration number of a Toyota Land Cruiser V8 seized at former Sports CS Rashid Echesa’s posh Karen home is forged, DCI has said. According to the DCI, the car is registered to a Mazda owned by Irene Mueni. Ms Mueni has been asked by the DCI to present herself and aid in investigations. Echesa was arrested on Monday after detectives impounded five vehicles; a Toyota Land Cruiser V8, Passat, Mercedes Benz E-Class, Ford and a Lexus without number plates. Former Sports CS Rashid Echesa was two years ago accused of swindling a Kisumu resident of her late husband’s possessions. Esther Kabura accused the former minister of not only stealing her late husband’s Sh12 million luxury vehicles but of sleeping with her daughter. Former Sports CS Rashid Echesa has been arrested, again. The former minister has been apprehended over the fraudulent acquisition of a Toyota Land Cruiser. All the vehicles found in his compound have also been seized.
