A Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) student was on Friday evening arrested by DCI detectives for faking her abduction. The 19 year old girl was apprehended at the Thika Road Mall (TRM) alongside her boyfriend. The teenager is said to have contacted her brother demanding that he sends Sh20,000 to her phone, a request he agreed to. Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party has made changes to its leadership in the Nairobi County Assembly. The Employment and Labour Relations court on Friday quashed the appointment of Mercy Wanjau as acting Director General of Communications Authority (CA). The court also nullified the appointment of members of the CA board and further directed that Francis Wangusi does not handover until the board is properly constituted. “The president should exercise his powers under the state cooperations act and extend the term of Wangusi until a new board is appointed to recruit the Director general,” Justice Byram Ongaya ordered. Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa was humiliated in Kibra last week during the hotly contested by-election. The incident was instigated by Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati. Homa Bay Governor Cyprian Awiti on Thursday baffled senators after he tabled a letter before the Senate Committee on County Public Accounts and Investment (CPAIC) whose contents they could not comprehend. Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has sued Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and its Director of Investigations Abdi Mohamud over ‘malicious’ probe. Through his lawyer Cecil Miller, the county chief who has made several appearances before the commission, wants the matter certified as urgent. Sonko presented himself before the commission at Integrity Centre on November 5, for allegedly lying in his self-declaration form. A US court has issued a warrant of arrest for a man of Kenyan descent for allegedly sexually assaulting a cellmate while being detained in the ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) section of the York county jail in February. Clifford Kamau Ibirithi, 34, is accused of sexually assaulting and choking a cellmate to unconsciousness. Rapper and former Big Brother Africa participant Jackson Ngechu Makini, better known by his stage moniker CMB Prezzo has denied being drugged and raped by three women. The reports first appeared on a Ugandan tabloid, Xclusive UG and then again on The Citizen, a Tanzanian gossip site. The two blogs quoted a police officer allegedly attached at Karen Police Station. A witness testifying against State House Digital Strategist Dennis Itumbi told the court that the latter sent the infamous fake assassination letter against Deputy President William Ruto to Tangatanga WhatsApp group. Mombasa Hospital has been closed indefinitely following a gas cylinder explosion on Tuesday night. The 8.30 pm inferno is said to have started in the kitchen before spreading to other parts of the 125 bed capacity health facility.
