Seven men accused of impersonating President Uhuru Kenyatta will spend the night at Muthaiga Police Station. They are; Joseph Waswa, Duncan Muchai, Isaac Wajekeche, William Simiyu, David Luganya, Gilbert Kirunja and Anthony Wafula. Suspects in the murder of Mary Wambui Kamangara were on Tuesday arraigned in a Kiambu court but could not take a plea. Judy Wangui, mistress to the deceased’s husband Joseph Kori and the taxi driver who allegedly helped in getting rid of the body, Michael Githae appeared in court today. Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has been accused of orchestrating Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa’s ouster from the Orange Democratic Party (ODM). According to the Citizen Weekly, the legislator is convinced that the governor cum ODM deputy leader is behind her woes because she rejected his sexual advances. Nurses have called off their nationwide strike that kicked off on February 4 in 11 counties that did not implement the caregivers’ return-to-work formula that saw the last strike suspended. According to the Kenya National Union of Nurses (KNUN) secretary general, Seth Panyako the strike is officially called off. The private sugar miller has allegedly been disposing toxic chemicals into River Kibos which drains into Lake Victoria. A man has been arrested for allegedly battering his wife to death. Laiko Osuri is said to have beaten his wife Beryl Adhiambo Ouma for four hours at their Kahawa Sukari home, Nairobi. The government has refuted claims that DNA samples will be taken during the Sh6 billion digital registration exercise that seeks to give everyone in the country a unique code dubbed “Huduma Namba.” The scope of data collection is allegedly restricted to external personally-identifying information (PII), including a digital photo, fingerprints and background information.
